OEB Breakfast Co. - Calgary

The view driving into Downtown Calgary

Last night, when we were checking out brunch places, we came across the awesome menu at OEB Breakfast Co. and decided to make our way over for Sunday brunch. There were a lot of people waiting for tables, but we waited about 1/2 hour to get in and we were seated at the long table in the middle of the restaurant.

Carrot juice, cherry blossom (black cherry, strawberry and mango nectar) and tropical twister

The one that did not get away
I liked the combination of the salty herring roe on top of sweet hollandaise sauce and scrambled eggs mixed with smoked black cod. Delicious! It had all the requirements of a great brunch: potatoes, eggs and my favourite brunch indulgence: hollandaise sauce

Gold digga box'd
The names of the dishes here definitely add character to the restaurant. The gold digga had truffled potatoes, 2 poached eggs and pork belly in a Chinese take-out box. While I found the pork belly a little tougher and chewier than I would have liked, the truffle oil made the box smell really aromatic and delicious.

Piedmont style three egg scramblette
My friend's healthy choice (especially after the Chinook Stampede Breakfast the day before). The artichoke, tomatoes, spinach and pine-nut free pesto sauce omelette was pretty good and it came with toast, fresh fruit and a simple spinach salad tossed with balsamic.

Overall: Great brunch at OEB! They have a fantastic menu with something for everyone: I really loved all the brunch options. It also helps that the food and drinks were delicious!
