There's a brand new sandwich shop at the corner of Elm Street and Bay Street in place of a formerly "sketchy and grubby" corner:

The Roast
Delicious! Crispy toasted bread with tons of roast beef and brussel sprouts. The horseradish aoli added a pleasantly tangy taste and it was really enjoyable to eat. A tad on the expensive side for $11.75 excluding tax, but they prepare it fresh and hot for you when you order it.
They also serve Ravi soups here which are amazing! You can really taste the spices and they have some really nice and exotic flavours such as apricot lentil and porcini mushroom (the flavours and menu change daily which keeps it interesting).
