Savoury Vietnam - Denver

Seafood Salad with shrimp chips $17.95

Savoury Vietnam đặc biệt $49.95
I haven't seen this on a menu at a Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto. It was a lot of fun making our own rice rolls with egg rolls, soft-shell crab, shrimp, grilled pork and more. I would highly recommend this here!

Fire pot hot and sour soup with tomatoes and rice $24.95
Super delicious! The soup was so savoury and it went really well with white rice.

Milkbox Ice Creamery - Denver

Downtown Denver is so pretty!

Space Junkie (black raspberry and brownie) and mint chip
Yummy ice cream from a really cute ice cream shop in Union Terminal.

El Five - Denver

The views are really nice since we're on the fifth floor of a building in Denver.

Tres Leches French Toast with red currants and caramelized milk
I was a little skeptical at first since it didn't look like French toast. It looks so pretty and it tasted really good.

Sausage Paella with chorizo, sausage, cheese, rice, egg and salsa verde and aioli
Really good for brunch! It had the crispy rice edges and tons of sauce = tasty and good textures with every spoonful.

The Post Brewing Company - Boulder

Royal Arch Trail

We got the Family Love for a few of us to share.
Whole fried chicken, two large sides and four biscuits.
Buttery delicious biscuits still warm from the oven

Fried chicken with pickles and a hot mustard sauce
The chicken was good and the sauce made it better.

Green chile mac & cheese with poblano peppers and hand mashed potatoes with gravy
The sides were really good and they were quite sizable portions.

Uchi - Denver

Walu Walu
Escolar with candied citrus and ponzu sauce was DELICIOUS! The citrus and ponzu sauce complimented the meaty whitefish so well.

Negihama temaki

hama chili with yellowtail, ponzu and citrus

Albacore tuna nigiri

Crispy rice, short rib and broccoli
I loved the textures of this dish with the chunky sauce, crispy rice and tender short rib.

Youkai berry with salmon, asian pear and yuzu

Hot Rock with Wagyu Beef
The beef was amazingly tender - it just melted in your mouth and the sauce added the perfect amount of flavour.

Chick-fil-A - Denver

Red Rocks Ampitheatre

The sound and acoustics here are insane.

Chicken nuggets and chicken sandwiches
Their fried chicken is so yummy! The sandwiches with their mayo and pickles are so good!

Rudy's "Country Store" Texas BBQ - Colorado Springs

Garden of the Gods

A whole selection of BBQ meats: turkey, sausage and lean & moist beef brisket
With potato salad and drinks
The turkey and sausage were really good. The brisket was really tender, but I think Adamson's in Toronto has tastier brisket. Overall, great BBQ meal at Rudy's!

Santiago's Mexican Restaurant - Denver

We picked up breakfast at Santiago's Mexican Restaurant on our way to the Garden of the Gods.
At 10:30am, they had breakfast burritos and regular burritos.

Pretty big burritos for $2.50 (breakfast) and $2.75 (beef)

Breakfast burrito
It was really good and it's such a good deal! The cheese, egg, chorizo combination wrapped in a tortilla is an awesome way to start the morning!

Unagi Hand Roll
The rolls were pretty good! They're not the traditional cone shape, but they were tasty all the same.

The Cheesecake Factory - Las Vegas

Sep 24, 2018
 Checking out the fall art

Very Cherry Ghiradelli Chocolate cheesecake $8.50
It was cherry flavoured (not like the cough syrup though) and pink and yummy!

Sep 20, 2014
I was so exhausted from the drama yesterday that I just passed out at the hotel after watching the Kà Cirque du Soleil show. The next day I was ready to eat my way through Vegas! Starting from The Cheesecake Factory of course. This location was actually the first Cheesecake Factory I've ever been to and it made such an impact on me that I've obsessed about it ever since (and I always make an effort to see if I can include it on any trips I make to the US).

It looks so pretty - it's even better than I remember.

Beer Mugs of Water and bread basket
Southern Fried Chicken Sliders and Crispy Crab Bites
I seriously love American portions; we paid an appetizer's price for a meal really. The Southern Fried Chicken Sliders were pretty good! I loved the customizable toppings on the side and the chicken was pretty crispy and full of juicy white meat. The crab bites were really good too! Delicious little morsels of crab meat with a nice tartar sauce on the side and a lemon wedge. Yum!

But the real highlight was this:

Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake and Mango Key Lime Cheesecake
The caramel pecan turtle cheesecake was made with Pecan Brownie and Caramel-Fudge Swirl Cheesecake and topped with Caramel Turtle Pecans and Chocolate. The mango key lime cheesecake was a mango key lime cheesecake topped with Mango Mousse on a Vanilla Coconut Macaroon Crust.
The caramel pecan turtle cheesecake was really rich and decadent - definitely on the heavier side, but a great balance of the sweet caramel, nutty pecans and luscious cheesecake. The mango key lime was something I was really looking forward to since I've been obsessing about key lime and I love mango, so I thought this would be an interesting combination to try.  I loved the cheesecake portion of it, but it was the vanilla coconut macaroon crust that made it fall short of expectations for me. Still delicious cheesecake, but not very good crust.

Overall: I love the Cheesecake Factory! They have big portions, good food, amazing cheesecakes, fast service and best of all - reasonable prices!
