We originally had planned to try the original Regent Park location. However, we saw the notice that the Regent Park location is currently closed for renovations from Dec 3, 2012 to mid January 2013 and luckily, the 52 Wellington East location is now open for business:
The Wellington Street East buildings have such great character and I really like what Sukhothai has done to the place:
Sukhothai Pad Thai with chicken (and mild) $13
What appears to be a small portion was actually quite substantial - the presentation was a bit deceptive and until you started pulling apart the noodles, then you notice that there's a decent serving of food.
It was pretty sad when I found the mild version of the pad thai kind of spicy - not overwhelming or anything, but there was definitely a bit of heat to the dish. The mixture of spices and flavours stood out to me and I found that there was a lot of depth to the pad thai.
Conclusion: I enjoyed my Sukhothai pad thai...but it was definitely on the pricier side.
What chicken nuggets are to McDonalds, garlic tofu is to Sukho Thai. They are mouth wateringly delicious. Dont worry they are not hot at all and can be devoured on their own even without the plum sauce :)
