Joey @ Shops at Don Mills

Feb 25, 2020
Joey's has happy hour from 3-6pm Monday - Friday and it's a great deal since they serve their regular priced dinner sized meals for a discount. It also applies Sun - Thurs from 9pm to close.

Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Lettuce wraps are so much fun! The flavours of the fried chicken, crispy noodles and mixed vegetables was on point. It worked really well with the fresh lettuce.

Hand pressed burger
Everything about this burger worked well! The beef patty was cooked well, the ingredients were fresh and the bun was really nice.

Chicken Buddha Bowl and Chili Chicken with cucumbers
The vegetable fritters and brown rice were my favourite parts of the Buddha bowl! The whole bowl was really good with a combination of textures and flavours. It was all tied together well with the heavier miso dressing (I thought it was hummus at first).
The chili chicken was REALLY GOOD! It's amazing what a little chili sauce can do since it elevated the fried chicken and cucumbers by adding a sweet and tangy flavour.

Shrimp lettuce wraps
The shrimp were so cute in the bowl and they were quite sweet, but they were overpowered by the sauce in the bowl and it made the dish kinda salty. It worked better when it was paired with the freshly washed lettuce.

Sliders
Mini cheeseburgers! Little morsels of deliciousness when you don't want to eat an entire hamburger.

Dec 26, 2015
I've been to the Joey's downtown, but this was my first time at the one at Don Mills.
Korean Fried Cauliflower and Tandoori Chicken Flatbread
The Korean cauliflower was really good.  It had some nice heat to it and it was almost as good as eating chicken bites (but it was the nice vegetarian option).  The flatbread was okay, but not particularly exceptional.

Key Lime Pie
I LOVED this key lime pie! It was so worth the $10 I paid for it - absolutely delicious! It was rich, creamy and not too tart or sweet.  It managed to hit all the right notes despite almost crumbling and collapsing on itself.  It was an amazing note to end on since it was so perfectly balanced and the key lime custard was spot on.
