Caliente Cab Co. - NYC

Times Square in New York at Night!

On the prowl in Murray Hill for a late night dinner, we found Caliente Cab Co.
The busy bar inside and Mexican pinatas hanging from the patio attracted our attention, so we figured - why not?

Hmm super dark menu...

Free tortilla chips and spicy salsa to start

El Dorado Quesadilla
Steak quesadilla grilled with pico de gallo, onions, and Cheddar Jack cheese.
Guacamole, lettuce and sour cream on the side
Pretty big portion - but not particularly impressive Mexican Food

I decided to get a combo ($15) to try a few different items:
Chicken Burrito and a Beef Enchilada
Both are hidden under a huge pile of melted cheese with a little lettuce and salsa on the left and some refried beans and Mexican rice on the right.
The chicken burrito was spicy (a little more heat than I could take) and the beef enchilada was okay.
The beans and rice were okay as well.

Overall: I get why this place has 2.5 stars on Yelp, the portions are big but the food isn't that great. I think it's more of a drinking spot than a food spot.
