Unfortunately, due to the mudslides, we couldn't take Highway 1 or PCH all the way from LA to San Francisco. There were so mudslides blocking off parts of the highway. Therefore, we decided to drive up to Monterey after San Luis Obispo and stay there overnight. Then the next day, we would drive down south to see Julia Pfeiffer State Park, Big Sur and Bixby Bridge.

The Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant seemed like it was in the middle of the forest along the highway.
