Canton-i @ 1 Utama - Kuala Lumpur (KL)

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

We went to the 1 Utama Shopping Centre to grab lunch after our flight. What a huge mall! It's the 4th largest in the world and there's a ton of shops.

An interesting experiment: Hong Kong food in Malaysia...

Milk Tea
Very strong and not very good. The standard was set very high especially since I just arrived from Hong Kong. It didn't have the creaminess or sweetness from the evaporated milk.

The shrimp wontons were okay (the size of the wontons was bigger than Mak's Noodles in Hong Kong), but the wrappers were super thin and the shrimp was only okay.

Stir Fried White Radish Cake
The stir fried radish cake was okay - definitely a little on the spicier side and the texture was a little soggy rather than crispy edges.

Cheung Fun (Rice noodle roll)
The cheung fun was bad: the youtiao was hard and a little stale rather than crispy inside and it got really soggy with the soy sauce. I would not recommend it here.

Mango sago dessert
This dessert was awesome! So delicious with rich mango cream and sago pearls adding a gelatin texture to the mango cream pudding and there were chunks of ripe mango - YUM!

Overall: Considering my recent experiences in Hong Kong, the food doesn't quite match up. However, I'd definitely come back for the Mango sago dessert because that was delicious!
