Madam Bee's Kitchen - Kuala Terengganu

Kuala Terengganu is the capital of the Terengganu state. It's also the closest city to Redang Island and home to:
 So cute!

We went to Chinatown to grab a bite to eat before hitting the road.
After note: A lot of people left KL to go back to their home towns (balik kampung) for Hari Raya celebrations. So, our 6 hour journey turned into an 8 hour journey back to KL because of traffic.

Lime juice
Really delicious! It was really sweet and refreshing after the hot sweaty journey back from Redang Island. The juice was not tart at all - awesome! I need to import this back to Canada.

Nasi Lemak with hard boiled egg, fried anchovies and peanuts, cucumber and sambal (hot spicy chili sauce)
The nasi lemak was not spicy at all! A huge difference from Madam Kwan's nasi lemak
It was AMAZING! The chicken was tender and juicy and it had all these great spices and flavours absorbed into the meat and in the sauce. So GOOD!

Nasi Ayam Kicap
I ordered this dish because I was a little afraid the nasi lemak was going to be too spicy. Nasi ayam kicap is just chicken rice (with a home-made chili sauce on the side). It wasn't spicy at all and tasted a bit like soy sauce chicken - it was stewed with Madam Bee's sweet soy sauce and really very nice.

Bubur cha cha
Icy dessert with ice cubes, sweet potato, yam, green sweet potatoes, pink balls of tapioca all in cold coconut milk. Delicious! It's a perfect treat for a hot summer day!
Word of caution: For people who don't regularly have coconut milk, you may not want to risk getting this chilled dessert as it can act as a laxative and have adverse effects such as nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. (I learned that the hard way).

Overall: Amazing Nasi Lemak and Nasi Ayam Kicap! The chicken was delicious and so flavourful! Great food and good service.
