Got the usual Korean BBQ BOGO deals on Ubereats and decided to try out the sizzling beef too
Sizzling Beef ($15.50 for two with BOGO promo), Chicken and Beef
The sizzling beef or bulgolgi beef and vegetables was made with a bean or miso sauce (which was a little strange as opposed to the Korean barbecue sauce or soy sauce). I would skip this and get their other lunch boxes instead.
Dec 20, 2020 - Korean Grill House
With the Ubereats 40% off promo code and the BOGO promotion running at Korean Grill House, this made our regular takeout options super cheap!
The chicken bento box $12.99 (for two) came on a huge bed of rice with two pieces of tasty grilled seasoned chicken (tastes even better with their specialty sweet soy sauce) and a portion of beansprouts and slightly spicy tofu pockets.
The other item we got was BBQ Kalbi ribs $28 (for two). The portion of ribs was rather small if they were planning on usually selling this for $28 (although most Korean restaurants do sell three strips of seasoned grilled ribs for about $30). The meat was flavourful, tender and tasty with perfect char marks, but I wouldn't pay regular price for these, so I think the BOGO price was pretty reasonable.
Nov 1, 2020 - Made in China
Made in China used to be next door to Korean Grill House, but they combined into one location sometime during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was kind of intrigued by the menu since I saw one of my favourite dishes: Baked chicken spaghetti with tomato sauce on the menu, so I ordered it.
Baked cheese chicken spaghetti with tomato sauce $11.99
It was a big portion of spaghetti and chicken with onions and tomatoes. However, it was like ketchup + gravy for the sauce and it was a weird dark brown colour rather than a red like what I expected. It was also a strange mix of too sweet and a little savoury from the gravy sauce. The noodles were okay, but I surprisingly didn't really like the chicken breast in this and it didn't seem baked with cheese. I wouldn't get this again here.

Chicken and Beef Lunch Bento Boxes
The Hong Kong Milk tea is an extra $0.50 now, but it's worth it since their milk tea is really good (almost as good as Marathon's and for a fraction of the price with the bento box).
The beef was much better this time around and the portion sizes were really big (the rice seemed endless). Yum!

Beef and chicken lunch boxes
The chicken was good (even better with their signature soy sauce). The beef was on the dry side - we'll stick to chicken for takeout.
Korean Grill House is open during COVID-19 for take-out through their next door store Made In China.
Grilled Chicken Lunch box with rice, beansprouts and tofu
I really missed their grilled chicken and soy sauce. Their soy sauce is AMAZING. We used to come eat here all the time for their lunch boxes (I just stopped posting about it since I became a regular) and it used to come with a HK milk tea if you ate in the restaurant. The takeout version doesn't have that, but it's still a sizable portion of grilled chicken with a lot of rice and their fantastic soy sauce.
Wow, I can't believe it's been over three years since I last came here!
Beef bento box
The beef, rice and side dishes were still as good as always. The prices went up a bit (which is understandable). I still love their soy sauce - it's so good and it works with all of their BBQ. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare (without me asking) and so tender and juicy. Yum!

I love Korean BBQ and I used to have it way more frequently than I do now. I guess when you get older, people's tastes change and so has been the case with my friends. We've become foodies and forgot all our oldies but goodies.
Personally, I love the lunch boxes here way better than the all-you-can-eat
They use better quality beef and chicken when they cook the lunchboxes, although the portions are a little smaller. (Prices went up since the last time I've been here)
Soup! It hasn't changed in years. Yay!
Barbecue Beef lunchbox with daikon, rice, tofu and beansprouts
They make their own soy sauce in house (and it's delicious - sometimes I just eat the sticky white rice with the soy sauce because it's just that good). The beef was tender, very tasty and well-done. The daikon adds a slightly tangy taste to whet the appetite and the tofu were barely spicy.
Barbecue chicken
The chicken was juicy and sweet with a nicely blackened skin. I think I'd prefer the beef over the chicken lunchbox though - the beef was just done better.
Lemon tea
The lunch box meals all come with a tea or coffee depending on your preference.
Overall: Great meal for $5.49 including tea, soup and a box with two appetizers, rice and your choice of meat. Good value for money and so tasty!
