Khao San Road

We went to pick up our order at Pai first since it took us forever to get through to Khao San Road - we tried to call at 4pm (only to realize they close between 3-5pm). We called multiple times around 5pm, but it took us about 6 tries before we could finally put in our order. We got there early (since it took us so long to get through) and then waited about 15 minutes outside for them to make our dishes. While I was waiting, I picked up mille crepe cake at Millie nearby.

Bangkok Pad Thai $17.50 and Chef Top's Massaman Curry (red curry with beef and potatoes) $17.50
The Bangkok pad thai kind of reminded us of Chinese stir fry beef noodles. The dish was savoury, but didn't seem particularly special or unique. The massaman curry had a lot of ingredients including potatoes, onions, beef, peanuts, tamarind. The curry had a mix of many different savoury flavours and I found that the tamarind flavour stood out to me.

Bangkok-style Pad Thai and Chicken Green Curry
I liked the pad thai better at Khao San Road than Pai since this one didn't have that strong tamarind flavour. The curry with bamboo shoot, green peppers, basil, lime and coconut leaf was delicious and not too spicy. I could eat this with white rice for days! Yum!
