Hangzhou Xanadu Resort Breakfast - Hangzhou

Even our hotel was picturesque:

From the top down and left to right:
1) Youtiao (fried donut) is usually eaten with congee to offset the watery and paste-like texture with crispy deep fried goodness. Unfortunately, this youtiao was soggy and soft instead of crispy.
2) Bao with one red dot had sweet red bean paste inside
3) Pork bao was really good! So much so that I grabbed a few more (see picture below)
4) Purple rice was gelatinous, sticky and sweet
5) Dragonfruit! That was a nice way to start my breakfast (and I have fresh watermelon juice on the side)
6) The mouse-like bao (it had two red dots on the side) had sweet egg yolk inside. The bao was nice and not too sweet.
7) Corn was soggy from being soaked in milk - not a way I enjoy corn - Uck
8) The crispy spring rolls were good so I went back for more later
9) The fried circular thing turned out to be a fried egg yolk. It was sweet-tasting and sticky inside - ugh
10) Fried noodles were good (definitely went back for more)
11) Fried rice was a little sticky and clumpy. It was relatively simple with scrambled egg and peas (can't go wrong with it)

As you can see, I went back for the spring rolls and the chow mein.
New additions were: banana bread and peach danish.
Banana bread was kind of hard and it tasted like they used normal bananas instead of super ripe bananas to make their bread (oh well). The peach danish was nice - I was surprised by the half peach in the danish. With the canned half peach in the middle, the danish was soggy inside and the outside pastry couldn't keep a flaky consistency.
More Bao...yum!

Rice noodles with choy in clear chicken broth with seaweed and shrimps
I love that all the hotels offer a selection of toppings to allow you to customize your noodles!
Delicious as usual. Broth was tasty with the small and sweet shrimps adding flavour.

Overall: Great Breakfast! I love the food in Hangzhou.
