Perfect Chinese Restaurant

This restaurant is known for being open 24 hours and its quick service.
However, when we got there, we found the service lacking: the staff set the table with dirty cups and they were very slow in bringing out the tea and taking orders. Luckily, the food came out quickly, but the plates weren't cleared in a timely manner.

Starter soup with pork and vegetables
This was a really good way to start dinner: the soup was great! Lots of flavour and pretty tasty with the pork and veggies.

Peking Duck

Let me break down the components:
1) The wrap was very oily and it did not hold its shape well (once you folded it - the wrap would crack)
2) The duck was moist and there was quite a bit of meat, but it was also greasy
3) The sauce was okay. I'm used to eating a strong hoisin sauce with Peking Duck and this one didn't have the taste I was used to.
4) the carrots and celery shreds seemed a little wilted.
Tentative conclusion: Not that great, but it is reasonably priced for $16 and we thought it was okay until we got this:

After the Peking duck, you usually get the option of getting the rest of the duck in either (1) plate with the meat and bones as seen above or (2) you can upgrade and get lettuce wrap with chopped meat and vegetables. I don't know if the restaurant doesn't serve the second option or if the waitress just didn't ask, but we were served the plate with the rest of the duck.
First, it was aesthetically unappealing and secondly, the remaining meat was very bony and fatty.
Not happy.

Sweet and Sour Pork
This was one of the better dishes of the night. The pork had a very concentrated intense and meaty flavour. The sauce was okay; I usually like vegetables with the dish to sweeten the sauce and balance it out. At the end though, I still though this dish was decent.

Shrimp and Eggplant in Spicy sauce
This was really nicely done. The shrimp were cooked well and the sauce was spicy enough to add some great flavour. I also really liked the eggplant in the sauce - it just soaked up the spicy taste.

Garlic sauce grouper
This was one of the worst dishes of the night. The texture of the grouper was rough and hard and the fish had a lot of bones! (I've been spoiled by Maple Yip's Grouper). The sauce wasn't that great either.

King Oyster Mushrooms, Chinese mushrooms and Baby Bok Choy
This was really nicely done. The mushrooms were well seasoned and tasty, while the baby bok choy was tender and crunchy. The only thing was that the dish was quite greasy.

Red Bean dessert
This was very watery and there weren't a lot of beans (contrary to the picture of the spoonful).

Overall: The Perfect Chinese Restaurant clearly has a focus on convenience and fast (if somewhat sloppy) service. The food was mediocre, but quite cheap. Depends on what you're looking for in your dining experience.
